Ding wins after three centuries in four frames - 25/10/2007
The Cresset, Peterborough. Neil Robertson 2-4 Ding Junhui Robertson's scores first 65-8 (Robertson 53), 128-0 (Robertson 124), 0-103 (Ding 103), 1-116 (Ding 115), 64-73 (Robertson 59, Ding 73), 0-133 (Ding 133)
A STUNNING display of break-building from Ding Junhui saw him complete a fine victory in a top-class affair against Neil Robertson.
Ding, 20, hit three centuries in the last four frames - 103, 115 and 133 - to recover from a 2-0 deficit to clinch a 4-2 victory.
Robertson, who himself registered a break of 124 in the second frame, did little wrong but saw every mistake pounced on.
It means his chances of finishing in the top four are now slim as he only has one point from four matches.
After a nervous start from both players, Robertson was the first to make a substantial break with a run of 53. But he still gave Ding another opportunity, although he could not take it as it became 1-0 to the Australian.
It got even better for Robertson as he took advantage of a poor shot from Ding on a red to compile a break of 124, for his first century of the competition and 16th in total.
This effort meant Robertson had earned a £1,000 bonus, as all players do for firing a century, and was only two frames away for his first ever Premier League victory.
A miss on a straight-forward red from Robertson proved costly as Ding raced through the balls and a 105 saw him also collect a £1,000 bonus in the third.
It was a similar story in the fourth as Robertson failed to sink a blue and that let Ding in. The 20-year-old Chinese player again capitalised as a break of 115 made it 2-2.
With three centuries in four frames the crowd at the Cresset in Peterborough were certainly getting their money's worth with a display of top-class break-building from both players.
Robertson should have clinched his second point of the season as he moved 64 points ahead in the fifth before a missed red into the top right pocket left the door open for Ding.
He took advantage with a score of 73 to steal the frame and ensure he would at least get a draw. It became a victory minutes later with yet another century - this time of 133 - to complete a magical triumph.
