Selby, who was given a wildcard into the competition, has performed superbly as he finished on top of the league table and will now meet seven-time world champion Stephen Hendry.
The semi-finals take place at the Potters Leisure Resort in Hopton-on-Sea, Norfolk next weekend and Selby will be confident of winning the trophy in his first year in the event.
He clinched top spot by avoiding defeat against Joe Perry in the final match of the evening at the Glades Arena, Kidderminster.
Selby looked on course to gain a victory as he moved 3-0 up but Perry won the last three frames to gain a 3-3 draw.
"I came here at the start of the tournament and I was just looking to enjoy it and hopefully get a top four spot but I'm chuffed to bits with the way I've played," said Selby, who now meets Stephen Hendry, while Perry plays Ronnie O'Sullivan in the semi-finals.
"I'm really looking forward to the play-off. It will be a tough match against Stephen but I'm going to enjoy it. It would be great if me and Joe could both get to the final."
Scores of 63 and 37 helped Selby move into a 3-0 lead but Perry secured a point with breaks of 115, 40 and 51 in the last three frames.
