Welcome to the official site of the 2013 Championship League Snooker
Ice cool Gould takes CLS crownMartin Gould, the world number 21 from Middlesex, overturned a host of big names to win the 2013 Championship League Snooker at Crondon Park, Essex following a fine run on the final day. He beat local man Ali Carter 3-2 in the final and it was a tenacious century break in the decider that clinched victory for Gould.
There was £10,000 on offer for the winner as well as £200 per frame in the group section of the winners’ group plus £300 per frame in the play offs. Added to his winnings from groups one, two, three and four and it totted up to a tasty £31,117 pay day for a delighted Gould.
It was his fourth professional title following success in Power Snooker, the Snooker Shoot-Out and a PTC event and he will enter the final qualifier for this year’s World Championship in a good frame of mind.
“I’ve won Power Snooker, a PTC, the Shoot-Out and now this so I need to do it in a ranking event,” said Gould.
