RONNIE O'Sullivan crushed Jimmy White 6-0 in the first whitewash of the 2007 PartyBets.com Premier League Snooker competition.

Breaks of 119, 91 and 87 helped O'Sullivan to a comfortably victory, although White underperformed and did not record a break of more than 40.

"I got off to a good start, managed to get among the balls and made a few breaks but Jimmy did not play great," said O'Sullivan.

"All I can do is just go out there and play my game but I'm always striving for perfection. There are so many good players and you always have to be on your game.

"Jimmy was unlucky in the third frame but they are the games you have to nick as they're good to win but also hurt your opponent.

"I don't come out to entertain people, that's just my natural play and if that does entertain then I will go to my grave happy."

O'Sullivan had won this tournament for the last three seasons but had a mixed 2007 campaign with two defeats in his first four matches. White had drawn two out of his first three encounters but had wasted opportunities to win every match.

O'Sullivan produced some fantastic snooker last week in his 4-2 triumph over Steve Davis and again started in impressive form as he made a century in just over five minutes.

He eventually ended on 119 for a 1-0 lead, which soon doubled as White failed to pot a single ball in the opening two frames.

However, he had one opportunity in the second of those frames but missed an attempt at the red after O'Sullivan had stalled on 51.

The third frame lasted 24 minutes and was one of the longest that O'Sullivan had been involved in any of his five matches so far this season.

White led by 62-25 but missed a blue, although O'Sullivan still needed one snooker. He did not give up and got fortunate when White saw the cue ball disappearing in-off after contacting the brown.

The frustration was evident for White as he hurled his cue to the floor in disgust. Things got even worse for the Whirlwind when he later potted the brown but watched in horror as the cue-ball again vanished, this time into the right middle pocket.

That was the mistake that O'Sullivan needed and he stole the frame by four points to move 3-0 in front.

It became 4-0 after White again failed to take his chance after accumulating 38 points, but was then stuck in his seat as O'Sullivan fired 87, although a missed pink denied him another £1,000 for a century break.

No one had been whitewashed in this year's event but White was in danger of becoming the first player to have that unwanted record. Scores of 39 and 33 helped O'Sullivan move 5-0 up in a miserable evening for White.

It ended 6-0 with White failing to capitalise on an early foul from the Rocket, who later made a break of 91 to complete a miserable day for the Whirlwind.
