Robbo makes final No.2 - 20/10/2011
Semi Final 2: Neil Robertson 3-1 Shaun Murphy 66-37 (60 Robertson, 37 Murphy), 41-74 (Murphy 53), 83-35 (Robertson 52), 68-49 (Robertson 48)
Neil Robertson will be Judd Trump’s opponent in tonight’s final of Event 7 of the PartyPoker.com Premier League Snooker.
Robertson got the better of Shaun Murphy courtesy of three frame-winning breaks at the Riverside Leisure Centre in Exeter.
The Australian had played his best snooker in the Premier League in his last outing to win in Motherwell and, while he did not replicate that sparkling form, he did enough to edge Murphy out.
The 2005 World Champion had chances but with seven points from his three starts, he will need to beat Judd Trump in Grimsby on 17th November to have any hope of reaching the business end of the tournament.
“It was counter-attacking snooker I guess; Shaun got in before me but I managed to clear up and win the frames,” said Robertson.
“I feel pretty tired as I’ve been up since 7am travelling so I’m just going to play my shots against Judd and I’m sure he will too.
“The most important thing was to get the win in first match which I did, so that leaves things in my own hands."
