Trump heads table with perfect performance - 20/10/2011
Final: Neil Robertson 1-3 Judd Trump 54-55 (Robertson 39, Trump 31), 76-38 (Robertson 30), 0-74 (Trump 59), 0-79 (76)
Judd Trump stormed to his second PartyPoker.com Premier League event win as he defeated Neil Robertson in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the Riverside Leisure Centre in Exeter.
Trump is undefeated from his two outings with a maximum 12 points and looks set for the play-offs at Potters in late November.
For Robertson, his semi-final win over Shaun Murphy was the most important part of the night as his tally of four points from the evening lifted him into second spot to give him a real chance of joining Trump in the semi-finals.
Trump took the first frame when it should have been Robertson’s as he ran through the colours to steal the frame on the black. However, Robertson got back on level terms as he took a scrappy second frame, a run of 30 clinching it.
There was some dazzling play from Trump in the next as an unanswered break of 59 was enough to take it and Robertson was left a mere spectator in the final frame as Trump ran riot with a 76 break.
“I’m very pleased to have won again. It’s such a high standard in the Premier League and all games are tough,” said Trump.
“It’s always good when you have the luck and you need luck to beat top players but I still had to win the frame.
“I’m in a good position now and I can relax and just watch the others battle it out."
